Kendriya Vidyalaya Kannur, Kerala, established in August 1983,is situated in the heart of the city in Cantonment area about 0.5 Km from Kannur Railway Station and 1 Km. from the bus station.

This Vidyalaya is in the Defence Sector, and the Commandant, D.S.C Centre, Kannur, is the Chairman of the Vidyalaya Management Committee.

This is a three section school having classes from I to XII.

Science ,Commerce and Computer Science are offered at the +2 stage. Computer Education is provided to all students from classes III to XII.

Apart from the academic ventures a variety of co-curricular activities are also conducted.

The institution aims at a comprehensive development of the child with accent on mental, moral and physical well-being.

The institution strives to mould the child into a healthy individual imbued with high moral values and aims at the three-fold development achieved through the head, the heart and the hand.

In little over a decade, the institution has steadily grown in stature and has begun to make a mark as one of the model Kendriya Vidyalayas in this part of the State.
