The Mahatma Gandhi Global Indian Eklavya School is a joint initiative of the Singapore-based Global Schools Foundation (GSF) and State Government of Gujarat, India. It is a tribal school situated in Tilakwada, 65km from the city of Vadodara, in the western Indian state of Gujarat. The school's conception was a result of a suggestion given by former President of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, requesting Global Schools Foundation to introduce quality education in the remotest part of India.
Late Dr L M Singhvi, Founding President, GSF; Prof MGK Menon, Patron, GSF; and Justice C S Dharmadhikari, President, GSF, decided to take the Tilakwada tribal school as a concept to impart education to students in tribal areas. The Central Government of India and State Government of Gujarat jointly fund the school.
