Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1, Mangalore is situated amidst idyllic surroundings in Panambur in the heart of New Mangalore Port Trust Colony on NH 17 about 13 Kms from Mangalore. in the District of Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka. Ours is a Civil sector Vidyalaya.

     The Vidyalaya traces its origin to 1966 and its growth as a full fledged Vidyalaya to 1969. It was upgraded to a model Kendriya Vidyalaya in 1999. Excellent performance in terms of results, a congenial atmosphere for learning and teaching process are the hallmarks of the Vidyalaya.
 
  The Vidyalaya has classes from standard I to XII each class having 3 sections along with the pre-primary. At the Senior Secondary level the Vidyalaya has the Science Stream. We have well equipped Junior Science Lab, two Computer Labs and three Science Labs for Higher-Secondary. We also have multipurpose ground and a separate basket ball court to cater to the outer door activities of the students.
