Earlier it had been declared a Model school and in the year 2002, it attained the status of the only ?Smart School? school in the KVS Bhopal Region. KV No.1, Residency Indore is Situated in the heart of city and surrounded by the abundant greenery , Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1,Indore is one of the earliest Kendriya Vidyalayas of India. This ideal centre of education, which became functioned in 1964, is a unit of an effective and well knit of organization of ?Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan?, under the ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India. Due to its glorious history and great achievements, it has always been in the forefront of the Bhopal Region. In the past five years, it has grown rapidly in every field and got appreciation from all sides. Structure and Growth : - The Vidyalaya has a ground and well-equipped building, stretched in 9.74 acres of land along with 21 staff quarters constructed by KVS. Classes from I to XII are run in two shifts, as more and more students are getting attracted to seek admission here every year. Each class has 4+2 sections up to class VIII & 4+1 sections up to class XII where the students have got the opportunity to study in science, commerce and arts after class X .The total strength of students of both the shifts is 2900 with 90 learned teachers on roll.
