Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2, Puducherry was established in the year 1986. Since its inception, the Vidyalaya has had a charmed life-housed in a modest and transitory accommodation till October, 2004. Now, the Vidyalaya stands in all its glory with a majestic building of its own, a sprawling play ground and all the facilities that go into making of an ideal school structure. Matching the eminence of this Vidyalaya is the devoted and efficient service of a team of 21 teachers 4 office staff and 3 lab attendant. The Vidyalaya caters to the educational needs of 779 students from Class I to Class XII. With a state-of the art, Computer lab, an adequate Science laboratory and a well stocked library together with spacious classrooms, the Vidyalaya is fully equipped to fulfill the academic needs of the students. To enable the students bloom in to multifaceted and well-integrated adults, training in areas like Yoga, Physical Edn., Fine Arts, Vocational Skills etc., is given. At the top of all, the idyllic environs with the Bay of Bengal as the backdrop is irresistibly inviting. K.V.No.2, Puducherry is situated in the campus of Pondicherry University on the East Coast Road.

The Vidyalaya has an imposing building, a multi-purpose playground, a basket ball court and a handball court. There are 10 classrooms, a Work experience Lab, a Science Lab, a Sports room, a Sick room, a Music room, a Maths Lab, a Resource room, a Well stocked Library, a Computer Lab, a Hindi Lab and a AV aids room. Our Staff room and Office room are spacious enough. Last but not the least, there are adequate toilet facilities and purified drinking water facility. Many plants like teak, neem mango and banyan have been planted in the Vidyalaya Campus.
