Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary Public School

DESCRIPTION :

Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary Public School, G.T. Road, Amritsar came into existence under the aegis of Chief Khalsa Diwan Charitable society in 1967. It is the first institution in the region to be affiliated to  the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. During the span of 48 years, it has become the forerunner of the  chain of such institutes. The school has about 5000 students on its rolls.

Co-curricular Activities
Co-curricular activities like debates , declamation contests, art and craft , poetic recitation, dance competitions, Shabad  Gayan competitions and  Youth Festival form an integral part of the school curriculum. The school  won the overall trophy in the First and Second Youth Festival organized by CKDCS. Tours and excursions are organized every year for the students because we believe that learning should be stimulating and enjoyable. The school arranged a one week educational trip to London in June, 2013. About 20  students  and 3 teachers alongwith  the Principal  had an exhilarating  experience in London.  Few senior teachers of the school went on a one week trip to Dubai this year.  

Sports
Team Spirit and the desire to give the best possible performance are our watchwords. Students under the able guidance of trained coaches excel in Table-Tennis, Volley-Ball, Basket Ball, Kho-Kho, Taekwondo, Fencing, Badminton, Hand Ball , Hockey and cricket.
