LAKSHMI TARA RATHAUR PUBLIC SCHOOL is an ENGLISH Medium School dedicated to the memory of late mother Smt. LAKSHMI DEVI and late wife Smt. TARA RATHAUR of Maj. Gen. Sher Jang Rathaur. Capt. Amarinder Sing, erstwhile Honourable Chief Minister of PUNJAB very graciously opened it to the public on 29 Nov. 2004.
 
Major General Sher Jang Rathaur VSM (Retd.) is the son of late eminent Headmaster, Thakur Phulel Singh of Village Majri. He recalls his younger days in 1950's, when he had to walk about 10 Kms one way to attend his school at KURALI. Since then, although there has been a tremendous over-all development, to include road connectivity and transport facilities in the area, yet there is NOT a Single good school which offers quality education to prepare our youth to face the competitive culture of modern times for admission into higher technical and academic educational institutions.  
 
With his children settled in the USA and no remaining family commitment, the GENERAL decided to under-take this noble venture of creating a state of the art educational facility for the children of our area. The school is upto VIIIth class. We plan to expand it to class IX in 2009 and Class X in 2010.
